MY LATEST ADVENTURES
SSDD… I think not!
We are in unchartered territory. As least for my current lifetime. Each passing day another "I never thought that would happen in... " moment is reported. Who knew Domestic Terrorist would become a daily word I either heard or spoke? Multiple "knowns" that we have taken for granted in years past, are now being called into question on a regular basis.
As a new administration takes over, we will see changes. Some will be perceived as good, some will not. It will depend upon who you ask. Our country is at a crossroads, more like a multiple-cornered crossroads. Some of us actually want to get to the same destination, but we can’t seem to agree upon the best route to get there. Others don't know where they want the country to go, they just know that this ain't the place! There is another group that wants us to go back to the way things were. Not sure about you, but parts of the past, didn't work out so well for people that look like me! Still others, want us to go where no one has gone before. I'm secure in my belief that they don’t mean Gene Roddenberry's vision. I also don't believe that their vision bodes well for most people.
Despite the ongoing changes, life continues. We still do our best to put food on the table for our families, to pay our bills, we do what must be done to survive. Hopefully, we help others however we can, for far too many of us are failing at these challenges. When our basic needs are met, we still must strive to reach our goals big and small. We still want and seek out happiness and joy, we still dream.
We endeavor to be more than we are. I was reminded of that this weekend when my friend told me a story about her little boy Noah (7 years old) He informed his mother that they needed to buy houses in Paris and Dubai. While discussing what this would look like, he asked what language they speak in Dubai. She answered Arabic. The kid jumped up and down extremely excited and exclaimed Oh I get to speak 4 languages! He currently has English under his belt. He is learning French & Spanish… so why not add Arabic.
If you are gonna dream, dream big. Give your dreams all the excitement and energy of a 7-year-old. You never know what can be achieved with a dream and effort.
This month's theme:
"Play"
Quote of the Month
"If you want to be creative, stay in part a child, with the creativity and invention
that characterizes children before they are deformed by adult society."
-- Jean Piaget

I believe that play should be a major part of everyone's life. Why do so many of us believe that once past childhood play has no place in their lives? Having fun and playing is part of life, hopefully from beginning to end and many times in between.
Children are the masters of playing and having fun. Children embody this ability naturally. We could learn a thing or two from them.
Along with their play comes not only learning but curiosity
My entire life has been accompanied by music. As far back as I can remember music has been a constant companion.
It has taken me through every "first" in my life. For every joy and every sorrow, every major event, from graduations to weddings, from births to funerals, music has been there.
Music is not only meant to be heard. It is meant to be felt, experienced and lived.
A love song can break your heart or it can fill it with joy. The right song can lead to fits of laughter.
A dance song makes you want to get ya groove on.
How we present ourselves to the world on any given day can be influenced by the music we listen to before we walk out of the door.
It can motivate you to conquer the world - in a good way.
It can be your blanket when the world conquers you.
Music allows us to communicate with each other.
When there is no common spoken language, music can step in and help people locate common ground.
Music has healing and teaching properties.
It is a time machine that allows us to relive moments gone by with extreme clarity.
Music is life
Music is love
Music simply, is a part of my soul.
